What Does A Consultation Provide?

For Anxiety Disorder Sufferers

We can provide a second opinion about diagnosis or treatment. We can also discuss treatment options and educate anxiety disorder sufferers about resources available to them. If there are issues that need to be addressed prior to treatment, we can advise people on the steps they might need to take to prepare for treatment. If indicated, we can provide treatment recommendations to the individual’s local therapist or physician.

For Their Families and Friends
We can provide education about anxiety disorders and treatment. We can identify resources specifically available to them. We can advise them how to support recovery and how to deal effectively with a sufferer. And we can help them reduce the stress and interference with life the anxiety disorder causes for everyone involved. This service is particularly valuable for families and friends dealing with anxiety disorder sufferers who are not getting better or who are not seeking help.

For Healthcare Professionals

We can offer a second opinion about their patient’s diagnosis or treatment. We can recommend a treatment plan designed specifically for their patient and provide on-going consultation as the treatment plan is being implemented. We can also be available at any point a treatment obstacle is encountered and the clinician would like suggestions for how to get around it.

How Much Does a Consultation Cost?

There is a one-time initial registration fee of $20 to establish your account. After that, you are charged $3.00 a minute for the time our clinician spends responding to your questions.
There are no other charges. As long as you have an existing email service, an email-based consultation should involve no extra charges. Customers receiving telephone consultation use our toll free number.

What Am I Being Charged For?

Unless otherwise authorized by you, you are only charged for time spent by the clinician with you on the telephone or the time the clinician spends responding online to your email inquiries.  A consultation involving a 10-minute telephone conversation, for example, would cost $30. When and if the clinician determines the nature of the information you are requesting requires substantial research time, your permission must be obtained before we will charge for time spent gathering information.

How Is Payment Made?

When you register, we ask for your credit card information. Your credit card will be automatically billed. You will receive an itemized account of all charges to your credit card each month.

Who Provides the Consultation?

Senior licensed healthcare professionals provide the consultations. You may request a particular member of our professional staff or you can indicate the nature of the issue you would like to discuss and a clinician with the appropriate expertise will be assigned to your case. SLBMI employs over 40 clinicians representing several disciplines and a variety of specialty areas.

Will My Privacy Be Protected?
