You have reached the Anxiety Disorders Center in St. Louis, Missouri.

We are specialists in the diagnosis, treatment, consultation, and research of Anxiety Disorders and their related problems. We have provided services since 1982.

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

Here you will find information to help you. Whatever your age, occupation, length of time you or a loved one have suffered from an Anxiety Disorder; or are a treating professional, you are not alone.

The Anxiety Disorders Center Saint Louis offers assistance to patients, families/loved ones, and treating professionals. We offer evidenced based treatment, consultation, and research for all problems that involve anxiety which include: obsessive compulsive disorder, social anxiety, phobias, post traumatic stress, generalized anxiety, panic, agoraphobia, trichotillomania, body dysmorphic disorder, childhood anxiety, body focus disorder, hypochondriasis, and all accompanying problems such as treatment avoidance, depression, relationship, and job disruption.

For those who suffer from an anxiety disorder and for those who live with them, an anxiety disorder becomes a powerful internal dictator. Anxiety can make one act in ways they know to be irrational, and makes certain things or situations difficult. The power of an anxiety disorder can make living a normal life impossible.

Of US adults age 18-54:

13.3% (19 million) have a treatable anxiety disorder

1 in 50 adults has Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) (3.3 million), 1/3 had symptoms in childhood.

4.4% (6.3 million) suffer from social anxiety.

2.8% (4 million) experience some form or another of generalized anxiety disorder.
