PhD
Laura
M. Huff, PhD is a licensed
psychologist. She received her Ph.D. in Clinical
Psychology from the University of Missouri-St. Louis in
1991. She is Director of the Eating Disorder’s Program
for St. Louis Behavioral Medicine Institute. She has
treated individuals with eating disorders and their
families in both inpatient and outpatient treatment
since 1986. She enjoys working with issues related to
identity development and the formation of healthy
attachments in early adulthood. She has worked in array
of treatment settings from campus counseling to acute
psychiatric inpatient units. Areas of related interest
include trauma recovery and mood disorders. She has
advanced training in behavioral and cognitive
interventions for treating severe challenging behaviors.
An associated specialty is working with caregivers of
individuals with disabling psychiatric, developmental
and medical conditions, including extensive experience
with autism spectrum disorders. Dr. Huff is a member of
the Missouri-Psychological Association, the St. Louis
Psychological Association, and the Academy of Eating
Disorders.
