D. Richardson, MD
Dr.
Richardson received his medical training at the University
of Illinois in Chicago. He did a residency in Internal
Medicine in the St Louis University Program. He is board
certified in Internal Medicine. He was attending physician
at SLU Internal Medicine Program for 10 years. He has
been Medical Director of the SLBMI Pain Management Program
since 1985.
His
activity in chronic pain management has included research
in various aspects of the effect of chronic pain on
patient's lives. He has also done drug research evaluating
the effectiveness of headache medicine.
He
a co-author of a headache management book entitled "Taking
Control of Your Headaches," which reflects the
philosophy of the chronic pain management program at
Saint Louis Behavioral Medicine Institute.
Dr
Richardson says that the most rewarding aspect of his
practice is seeing his patients learn how to manage
their chronic pain condition, which leads to a better
quality of life.
